The OpenOffice-plug-in is include in the Hawron release.
Before you can use the plug-in you must setup the path to your OpenOffice-Installation. Open the Preferences (Menu: 'Edit->Preferences') and choose the OpenOfficePlugin-entry. You must point to the root-directory of your OpenOffice-Installation, like:
C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org1.1.0or
/opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0Try 'auto-detect' if you are unsure.
Switch to the Context-View. Choose a file to edit or choose a directory where you want create a new OpenOffice-file. The 'Save'-dialog will then point to this directory.
The current plug-in works only on the local-file-system. A later release will work with all vfs-systems of the Context-View.
The OpenOfficePlugin works only on Windows- and Linux/Unix-platforms with OpenOffice or StarOffice. MacOS X is not supported, but this can be changed with OpenOffice 2.0
On Windows always shutdown the OpenOffice (the popup on 'Exit') and close running OpenOffice-windows before you work with Hawron. Otherwise it might be possible that there a running OpenOffice instances in the background, which you must 'kill' by hand (TaskManager) then.
Some Linux-distributions (Fedora) uses own packages of OpenOffice without the OfficeBean-libraries. These versions will not work with Hawron. If you want to work with the OpenOfficePlugin, you have to install a version from OpenOffice.org.
If you run in problems try to use the latest OpenOffice 1.1.x -release (1.1.4 now).
